Tubelite Hosts 70th Anniversary Ribbon-Cutting Event

Tubelite Inc., a leading supplier of storefront and entrance systems, has been fabricating and distributing extruded aluminum products for the glass and glazing industry since 1945.

Tubelite, a Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce member, celebrated the company’s 70th anniversary with a ribbon-cutting event for employees and their families on Oct. 3, 2015.

Pat Daniels joins Tubelite as Southeastern regional sales manager

Tubelite Inc. has hired Pat Daniels as Southeastern regional sales manager. He reports directly to Steve Green, Tubelite’s vice president of sales and client services.

Drawing from more than 30 years of experience in sales, marketing and product management working for multinational corporations, Daniels has a hands-on approach to team building, product portfolio management and customer relationship management.

Most recently, Daniels worked at as regional sales manager for New Jersey-based Englert Inc., providing commercial and residential metal roofing and on-site roll-forming machines. He previously was director of sales and marketing at Fortis Plastics Inc. Prior to this, he held the same title with YKK Architectural Products Inc. in Atlanta. For more than 20 years, he was responsible for marketing and business development at CertainTeed Corp in Pennsylvania.

Daniels earned a bachelor’s degree in business and finance from Mount Saint Mary’s College in Baltimore.

Industry mourns Tom Minnon, Tubelite’s architectural specification manager

05Tubelite_LEED-AP_TomMinnonTubelite Inc. sadly shares the news that industry leader Tom Minnon (63) passed away on Fri., May 15. His wife, Hope, and their family members request condolences to be directed to Peabody Funeral Home, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH 03038.

For four decades, Minnon shared his knowledge of architectural building products with thousands of people ranging from architects to glazing contractors and building owners to elementary school students. An advocate for green building and design, he often used his own sustainably built home as an inspirational example.

Minnon joined Tubelite as a regional sales manager and was promoted in 2013 to serve as architectural specification manager. “Tom was a key driver in dramatically improving our specification presence in the architectural community,” said Mary Olivier, director of marketing at Tubelite. “Tom was passionate about the business and has given numerous educational seminars, keynote addresses at national, regional and local industry events.”

Along with delivering dozens of educational presentations each year, Minnon also authored industry articles and earned many professional accreditations including LEED® Accredited Professional through the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and Certified FenestrationMaster™ through the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA).

Olivier added, “He will be greatly missed.”

Tim Fookes joins Tubelite as director of engineering

Tim FookesTubelite Inc. announces Tim Fookes as its director of engineering. As part of the company’s Leadership Group, he will ensure that the engineering department provides excellent customer service and assistance for both new and existing storefront, curtainwall, entrance and daylight control systems.

Helping support Tubelite’s clients with dependable products, Fookes also is responsible for monitoring all building codes and standards. He serves as the company’s contact for applicable code-related councils and associations, such as the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), the Glass Association of North America (GANA), and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

With 20 years of experience in engineering and team leadership, Fookes most recently worked at Izzy+, a furniture manufacturer with headquarters in Michigan. Prior to this, he was employed with Haworth, Inc., a commercial furniture systems manufacturer also based in Michigan. While at Haworth’s he served as an engineering manager, project engineer, product engineer and manufacturing engineer.

Throughout his career, Fookes demonstrates a passion for developing innovative products designed with the customer in mind. Supporting this goal, he has directed all aspects of an industry leading process and major product launches, implemented Kaizen events and fostered technical problem-solving with cross-functional teams.

Fookes earned a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Western Michigan University–Kalamazoo and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

Ty Bowie joins Tubelite, serves north/central Florida

Tubelite Inc. added Ty Bowie as a client development manager serving clients in central and northern Florida as part of G. Bowie & Associates’ manufacturer’s represeTubelite_TyBowientative team. He steps into a position previously served by Brian Ragsdale, who has moved to the position of product applications engineer.

Ty Bowie joins his father, Gary Bowie, and his colleagues, Hunt Dickson and Charlie Hall, in working with glazing contractors and architectural teams across the Southeast to provide assistance with storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems. He looks forward to sharing Tubelite’s ForceFront™ Storm products that meet the impact building codes in this area.

A long-time Florida resident, Ty Bowie has seen the destructive force of tropical storms and hurricanes. He previously owned, renovated and consulted on multi-family residential developments and condominiums. For more than a decade, he worked as an international real estate broker advising on commercial and investment properties in Florida, South America, Great Britain and Western Europe. Prior to G. Bowie & Associates, he previously worked in sales roles with U.S. Aluminum and with Tennessee Glass Wholesalers.

Along with maintaining his licenses in real estate and mortgage brokerage, Bowie earned his bachelor’s degree from East Tennessee State University. Outside of work, he volunteers with his son’s Boy Scouts of America troop.
