Daniel Politowicz named as Tubelite logistics manager

October 5th, 2021|

Walker, Michigan (Oct. 2021) – Tubelite Inc. welcomed back Daniel Politowicz as its logistics manager serving all of the company’s locations and personnel, including direct supervision of the company’s shipping assistants.

Politowicz reports to Tubelite’s order and planning manager, Scott Waggoner. Together, they oversee the company’s U.S. and Canadian freight movement, distribution and continuous improvement initiatives supporting Tubelite’s storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems.

Drawing from more than 35 years of logistics and distribution experience, he is knowledgeable in Kaizen methods and lean manufacturing. Prior to joining Tubelite in 2015, Politowicz served as an operations and procurement manager at Palogix Supply Chain Services, a third-party logistic company based in Michigan.

Earlier in his career, he worked for 15 years at Coca-Cola Refreshment, eventually becoming the senior transportation manager for the Great Lakes Region. He also worked as a transportation manager for Menlo Worldwide Logistics, a global supply chain company based in Michigan.

Politowicz began his career with the U.S. Marine Corps as a logistic and embarkation specialist. His duties involved the planning, training and movement of troops and equipment for worldwide deployment by air, land and sea. He served for eight years, participated in multiple [ Read More… ]

Tom Klutho joins Tubelite as client development manager for Louisiana and Mississippi

Walker, Michigan (Sept. 2021) – Tubelite Inc. welcomed Tom Klutho as a client development manager serving Louisiana and Mississippi. Klutho reports directly to Tubelite’s regional sales manager Terry Robinholt. They work closely with glazing contractors and architectural teams across the region to assist with storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems.

Most recently, Klutho served as architectural sales representative at Wausau Window and Wall Systems. Both Wausau and Tubelite are part of Apogee Enterprises, Inc. At Wausau, he was involved with several successful health care, education, government and commercial building projects, including at Mississippi State University.

Klutho previously worked as an architectural sales representative for both Kawneer and C.R. Laurence Company, Inc., after serving as an architectural consultant at a Guardian Glass Fabricator.

In addition to his professional experience, Klutho earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and media studies from Missouri State University. He also earned a Construction Specification Institute (CSI) Construction Documents Technology (CDT®) certification.

Erika L. Heredia R. named as Tubelite’s continuous improvement director

Erika L Heredia RWalker, Michigan (June 2021) – Tubelite Inc. welcomes Erika L. Heredia R. as the company’s continuous improvement director based in Walker, Michigan. Reporting to Dean Seger, vice president of integrated supply chain, Heredia’s focus will be to lead the implementation of lean manufacturing initiatives for Tubelite’s six locations.

Heredia draws from a decade of leadership in Apogee Enterprises Inc.‘s family of businesses including Viracon, at Tru Vue and now at Tubelite. She most recently served as Viracon’s continuous improvement manager and previously as the coatings production manager. Heredia has extensive Six Sigma training and completed Apogee’s 17-month Lean Six Sigma Black Belt management trainee program. She applied this knowledge as a lean Six Sigma Black Belt at Tru Vue.

In addition to her professional experience, Heredia earned a master’s degree in production and management, and industrial process improvement from OBS Business School through Spain’s Barcelona University. Fluent in Spanish, she also has Master of Science/Technology in manufacturing and management with a concentration in occupational safety from Georgia Southern University. Josh Herman returns to Tubelite as client development manager for western Pennsylvania and northeastern Ohio

Walker, Michigan (May 2021) – Tubelite Inc. welcomes Josh Herman as a client development manager serving western Pennsylvania and northeastern Ohio. Based in Ohio, he previously served in this role from 2018-19. He returns to the team as a manufacturing representative, and as the founder/president of Herman Architectural Products, LLC.

Herman reports directly to Tubelite’s regional sales manager Jim Oberlin. They work closely with glazing contractors and architectural teams across the region to provide assistance with storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems.

Most recently, Herman worked as an outside sales representative at W.A. Wilson Glass in Canton, Ohio. He previously was employed at Everhart Glass Company, also located in Canton. While at Everhart, he served as an operations manager and as a shop foreman. He also has served as a project manager at Oldcastle Building Envelope in Warwick, Rhode Island, where he worked with architects and engineers.

Herman perused a bachelor’s degree in business finance at the University of Akron, received his Real Estate Certification from Hondros College in Akron, Ohio, and stays active in his community as a youth sports program coach.

Dean Seger named as Tubelite’s vice president of integrated supply chain

portrait of Dean SegerWalker, Michigan – Tubelite Inc. has named Dean Seger as vice president of integrated supply chain in Walker, Michigan. Reporting directly to company president Steve Green, Seger’s focus will be on manufacturing, quality and logistics for Tubelite’s six manufacturing sites.

“We are very excited to have Dean join our team! As we continue to grow, his knowledge and experience will prove invaluable to contributing to our commitment to quality and dependability,” said Green.

Seger joins Tubelite with more than two decades of operations leadership, most recently coming from Western Window Systems, a residential window manufacturer in Phoenix. He began his career there as the continuous improvement director before being promoted to vice president of manufacturing, then to his most recent position as vice president of operations. In this position, he implemented lean manufacturing principals for labor- and cost-savings, and drove new product development that resulted in significant annual revenue growth.

Jim Hughes named client development manager

Tubelite Inc. has named Jim Hughes as client development manager serving the market in Maryland, northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. He reports directly to Tubelite’s regional sales manager, Patrick Daniels. They work closely with glazing contractors and architectural teams to provide assistance with storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems.

Hughes joins Tubelite with over three decades of experience in the glass and glazing industry. He began his career at Harmon, Inc. as a senior sales associate, and included an operations role at Trainor Glass Company and Fairfax Glass Company. Most recently, he worked as an account manager at Schüco USA, where he served clients and architects in New York City; Washington, D.C.; and across the East Coast.

Hughes said, “I am excited to share the Tubelite product line with the architectural community, general contractors and the glazing industry within this robust market.”

Tubelite promotes Cameron Shooltz and Graham Green

Tubelite introduces its client development manager trainee program. The program is designed to train aspiring sales professionals to successfully promote Tubelite’s storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems to glazing contractors and architectural teams.

Cameron Shooltz, client development manager for Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and western North Dakota, completed the program in November 2018. He reports directly to Tubelite’s regional sales manager, Terry Robinholt. Shooltz began at Tubelite in 2016 as a junior general accountant and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting information management from Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

“During his first year, Cameron has been able to utilize various steps from the training program to build long-term relationships and provide our clients with valuable opportunities,” said Robinholt.

Graham Green, client development manager for northeast Ohio, completed the program in October 2019. He reports directly to Tubelite’s regional sales manager, Jim Oberlin. Green began at Tubelite in 2016 as a sales intern and earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Roosevelt University in Chicago.

Paul Drake named as Tubelite client development manager for Kentucky

Tubelite Inc. has named Paul Drake as client development manager serving the market in Kentucky. He reports directly to Tubelite’s regional sales manager, Patrick Daniels. They work closely with glazing contractors and architectural teams to provide assistance with storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems.

Drake joins Tubelite with more than two decades of sales and management experience in the glass and glazing industry. He most recently held the position of architectural sales representative at AGC Glass Company of North America in Alpharetta, Georgia, where he grew brand awareness and was responsible for significant increases in commercial glass sales. Previously, Drake served in project management and sales at Kawneer and Arch Aluminum Glass before becoming an architectural sales representative at Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope.

In addition to his professional experience, Drake is active in numerous Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) chapters throughout the Midwest and earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education and recreation from Franklin College in Indiana.

Steve Green Promoted to President of Tubelite Inc.

Tubelite, Inc. announced the promotion of Steve Green to the role of president, effective April 1, 2019. Green will report to Joe Puishys, chief executive officer of Apogee Enterprises, Inc., Tubelite’s parent company.

Guided by Green and the company’s executive leadership team, Tubelite continues to be a leading manufacturer and supplier of architectural aluminum storefront, entrance and curtainwall systems in the United States. As Tubelite’s president, Green oversees the company’s operations and its facilities in Walker and Reed City, Michigan; Dallas; and Warwick, Rhode Island.

“Steve is a key driver and leader of promoting and living the ‘dependable’ brand with our employees and customers. This strategy has been a wonderful roadmap to success year after year,” said Puishys.

Green began his career at Tubelite as a sales representative in 1990 and was promoted to regional general manager after his first year with the company. In the following years, he became the vice president of sales and was co-owner of the company before Apogee purchased Tubelite in 2007. In 2018, he was named general manager.

Michael Ross named as Tubelite client development manager for northern Georgia

Michael RossTubelite Inc. has named Michael Ross as client development manager serving the northern Georgia market. He reports directly to Tubelite regional sales manager Patrick Daniels. They work closely with glazing contractors and architectural teams to provide assistance with storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems.

Ross joins Tubelite with over two decades of operations, business development and sales leadership experience in the commercial construction industries. Previously, Ross held management positions at various locations for ARAMARK’s uniform services. He received numerous promotions during his nearly 10 years of employment at the company. Following this, he joined American Window and Door (AWD) in Georgia and served as its owner and senior project manager.

In addition to his professional experience, Ross earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and public administration at the University of Akron in Ohio, and a master’s of business administration from St. Francis University in Pennsylvania.

Tubelite names David Ham as client development manager for Houston, Texas

Tubelite Inc. has named David Ham as client development manager serving the Houston market. He reports directly to Tubelite regional sales manager Terry Robinholt. They work closely with glazing contractors and architectural teams across Texas to provide assistance with storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems.David Ham

Joining Tubelite with more than 35 years of industry experience, Ham most recently worked as senior architectural sales associate at C.R. Laurence/U.S. Aluminum, Inc. and served the central Texas and northwest Oklahoma area. He started his career at United States Aluminum Corporation and held various positions within the company – from architectural sales to project management and estimating, to fabrication and production. He also was an architectural sales representative in Texas with YKK AP America for nearly 15 years.

Before joining the fenestration field, Ham studied real estate, contracts and computer science at Cedar Valley College in Dallas, Texas. He continues his professional development and shares his knowledge as an active member of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI Houston) and the Texas Glass Association.

O’Neill named client development manager for select New England states

Tubelite Inc. has named Kevin O’Neill as a client development manager serving clients in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Based in New Jersey, he reports directly to Tubelite regional sales manager Jim Oberlin. They work closely with glazing contractors and architectural teams across the region to provide assistance with storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems.

O’Neill started his career in 1990 at Kawneer Company in New Jersey as a project manager and was promoted throughout his years at the company before landing in the architectural sales representative role. He continued his career as an architectural sales representative at Kalwall Corporation in New Hampshire, at YKK AP America in Massachusetts and at Oldcastle Building Envelope in Rhode Island. He returned to New Jersey and to project management in his most recent position at Boss Glass Company.

Throughout his time as an architectural sales representative, O’Neill coordinated with building owners, architects, general and glazing contractors on expansions and new construction projects. He continuously evaluated drawings for structural compliance and building standards, and advised architects on product application and specifications.

Tubelite has added Sharrod Szydloski, Matt Tschida and Bret Summers as support staff to continually improve client partnerships across expanded territory coverage and increased new product offerings.

 

Sharrod Szydloski

In southern Missouri, Sharrod Szydloski joined Archon Fenestration Technologies (Archon Fen-Tech) as a sales agent. He works closely with Doug Urich, Tubelite’s client development manager for Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska. With 24 years of industry experience, Szydloski owns and operates DV8 Dynamics, a professional shop drawing service, while servicing customers for the Archon Fen-Tech team.

As part of the Hillesheim Architectural Products, Inc. Boyer Represents Tubelite – Georgia, SC & the Florida Panhandle

Tubelite Inc. has named Building Products’ Specialists, and its owner Bob Boyer, as a manufacturer representative serving clients in southern Georgia and the Florida Panhandle. Chris McLelland, owner of Heritage Architectural Sales, will work with Boyer and cover southern South Carolina.

Boyer and McLelland report directly to Tubelite Regional Sales Manager Patrick Daniels. They work closely with glazing contractors and architectural teams across the region to provide assistance with storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems.

With more than 40 years of industry experience, Boyer was employed for 14 years at Amarlite Architectural Products including the position of chief operating officer. He founded Building Products’ Specialists in 1993. Prior to that, he started at Kawneer Company as a corporate tax accountant after graduating from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting and marketing. Building Products’ Specialists has offices in Destin, Florida, and Jonesboro, Georgia.

McLelland adds 17 years of experience in the glass and glazing industry working at W.C Johnston Architectural Sales before he established Heritage Architectural Sales in 2006.

Fookes Promoted to Vice President of Engineering

Tim Fookes has been promoted to vice president of engineering at Tubelite Inc. Fookes reports directly to company president Amy Cole and is a part of the Tubelite Management Team. Guided by this team, the company is an industry leader in storefront, curtainwall and entrance systems, and recognized for its fast, reliable and consistent delivery.

Tubelite Adds Jim Leadbetter as Director of Operations

Tubelite Inc. welcomes Jim Leadbetter as director of operations in Reed City, Michigan. He will lead and support the company’s business growth strategies through safety, quality and productivity improvements.

Drawing from more than 25 years of operational and management experience, Leadbetter has generated significant results in cost reduction strategies and productivity improvement throughout his career. Most recently, he worked as the logistics sort center leader for Amazon Logistics in Swedesboro, New Jersey. Prior to this, he was employed for 17 years at FMC Corporation where he began as a facilities manager in North Carolina for the chemical manufacturing company. Through regular promotions at FMC, he eventually earned the role of manufacturing director at the corporate headquarters in Philadelphia.

Joining Tubelite, Leadbetter returns to Michigan where he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Lawrence Technical University. He also holds an MBA from Augusta State University in Georgia.

Tubelite Adds Baumann as Business Development Manager

Tubelite Inc. has added Kent Baumann as a business development manager based in its Dallas office. He reports directly to Steve Green, Tubelite’s vice president of sales and client services, and works with strategic accounts in the retail, healthcare, hospitality and corporate office markets.

Baumann will work closely with building owners, together with Tubelite’s partner glazing contractors, providing services and products including storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems. He explains, “We offer an industry-leading, turnkey solution to building owners and property managers seeking a dependable partner to meeting the needs of their energy-efficient buildings.”

Prior to joining Tubelite, Baumann worked for 27 years with Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope and the Vistawall Group. He held numerous sales and management roles with these businesses. Since 2008, he served as Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope’s business development manager.

Baumann studied architecture at the University of Texas–Arlington. He also is a LEED® Accredited Professional.

Mills Represents Tubelite in Idaho, Utah & NM

Dennis MillsTubelite, Inc. has named Dennis Mills Associates as its manufacturer representative serving clients in Idaho, Utah and New Mexico. Representing leading manufacturers that specialize in architectural glass products, Dennis Mills and Bret Summers work closely with architects, engineers and glazing contractors throughout the Intermountain West region. Tubelite achieves NFRC ACE certification

Tubelite Inc. has been approved by the National Fenestration Ratings Council (NFRC) as a Manufacturer Approved Calculation Entity (ACE) Organization. NFRC is the global leader in delivering energy and related performance ratings and certification for fenestration products and systems.

In addition to the company’s ACE certified individuals in both the engineering and marketing departments, three Tubelite representatives have earned a Certificate of Approval for successfully completing the ACE Training Workshop: client development manager Dan Goodman, and representatives Rick Hillesheim and Matt Tschida of Hillesheim Architectural Products, Inc.

As an NFRC ACE, each is qualified to carry out performance calculations of fenestration products for design support and final certification using the NFRC Component Modeling Approach (CMA) and software tool (CMAST). Through NFRC’s CMAST libraries of approved frames, glass and spacer components, users can configure fenestration products for a project, and can obtain a U-factor, solar heat gain coefficient and visible transmittance rating for those products. Performance values are then compared to the energy requirements of local energy codes to determine compliance.

Tubelite Names Bodnar as Client Development Manager

Mike BodnarMike Bodnar has been named as Tubelite Inc.’s client development manager serving eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is based in Brigantine, New Jersey, and reports directly to Tubelite’s regional sales manager Jim Oberlin. They work closely with glazing contractors and architectural teams across the region to provide assistance with storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems.

Bodnar draws from 20 years of commercial sales and customer service experience. Most recently, he held estimating and customer service responsibilities at Scranton Products, a leader in the plastic partitions and lockers industries. Prior to that, he worked in sales positions with plastics supplier and manufacturer Vycom Corporation, Stroudsburg Door & Trim, and The Home Depot. He also was the owner and operator of M&J Distribution, Inc., specializing in commercial and residential construction materials.

Bodnar earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Marywood University in Pennsylvania.

Continuing his professional development and supporting Tubelite’s clients, Bodnar will represent Tubelite at industry association events including for the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Tubelite Adds Archon Fenestration Technologies

Located in Overland Park, Kansas, Archon Fen-Tech represents best-in-class product manufacturers within the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) MasterFormat® Division 8 – Doors and Windows specification, including Tubelite and Viracon. Urich is certified through CSI’s Construction Documents Technology (CDT) Program. He and the company offer fenestration design-assist consultations drawing from 28 years of industry experience.

Tubelite welcomes Northwestern Glass Fab

Tubelite Inc. welcomed Minneapolis-based Northwestern Glass Fab, a division of Brin Glass Company, as a distributor partner. Founded in 1912, the independently owned and operated glass and architectural metal fabricator and distributor serves Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Tubelite expands facility in Walker, Michigan

Tubelite_WalkerExpansion_webContinuing its steady growth, Tubelite Inc. completed a 33,000-square-foot expansion at its facility in Walker, Michigan. This location includes the company’s corporate office, fabrication, warehouse and shipping operations. The addition will also accommodate a new engineering test laboratory, a new fabrication training area and larger space for extrusion racking, plus new equipment, technology and ergonomic enhancements.

“The new, additional space and layout helps us improve our process flow, resulting in ever-better lead times. The new equipment also helps us gain greater capacity to support future growth and to maintain the dependable, high-quality of our products and reliable service that our customers count on us to provide,” says Mary Avery, Tubelite’s vice president of marketing.

She adds, “The expansion allows us to remain in our current location and continue many benefits the area offers. The Grand Rapids and western Michigan area continues to grow and provides Tubelite with outstanding staffing opportunities. Our location is easily accessible from the two main highways going through the area.”

Tubelite Opens Office in Rhode Island

As part of its planned market expansion and strategic growth, Tubelite Inc. will open a new client services office on Nov. 30, 2015, in the Providence, Rhode Island area. Staffing Tubelite’s new office are five, experienced personnel dedicated to serving the storefront, curtainwall and entrance systems needs for clients in New England.

All five of Tubelite’s new client services team members previously worked with Oldcastle Building Envelope in Warwick, Rhode Island. They include Anita Bongiardo, Jim Ferrara and Elizabeth (Betsy) St. Onge and Melissa Torres-Hardy, estimators; and Mario Gaspar, order entry.

“This group collectively has over 100 years of industry experience, as well as established relationships with the glass and glazing community in New England,” said Steve Green, Tubelite’s vice president of sales and client services. “We are very pleased to have such experienced, regionally focused team members servicing clients in New England from our office in Rhode Island, in the Southeast from our South Carolina office and in the South Central from our Texas office.”

Tubelite’s Rhode Island-based client services team will move from temporary offices to a permanent address on Jan. 1, 2016.

Tom Mifflin joins Tubelite as product manager

Tom Mifflin, Product ManagerTubelite Inc. named Tom Mifflin as its product manager supporting its storefront, curtainwall, entrances and daylight control systems. He works closely with the company’s marketing, sales and engineering teams, and with clients to help anticipate and develop new products and services for the industry’s constantly evolving commercial building needs.

Mifflin joins Tubelite from Wausau Window and Wall Systems where he worked for 20 years in engineering, research and product development, and most recently as the regional architectural service manager helping design professionals select products to achieve building performance goals. He specializes in high-performance designs including net-zero energy, condensation resistance, blast hazard and hurricane mitigation, and building integrated photovoltaics. Prior to Wausau, Mifflin was a design engineer working on classified projects for the military.

Throughout his career, Mifflin has participated in industry associations and events including the American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), the National Fenestration Ratings Council (NFRC), the Protective Glazing Council International (PGC) and the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
